| We are planning a farm dinner. Check on the events page for up-to-date information! We are delighted to be shopping at the Oak Park Farmer's Market. You can find us there every Saturday morning shopping for favorite local, seasonal produce.You can also find us at the Green City Market every Wednesday in Lincoln Park. Local heirloom tomatoes and Michigan peaches in season right now and we are featuring them as specials. Craig recently went on a trip to Southern Wisconsin to meet some artisan cheese makers. At Carr Valley in LaValle, Craig met Sid Cook who showed him around and shared some of his favorites. They had a ball talking about cheese, cows, sheep and goats. He also met Mary from Brunkow Cheese in Darlington and came away with a delicious bandaged cheddar we want to feature on our cheese board. Brunkow has a booth at the Oak Park Farmer's Market, so you, too, can buy some of their delicious cheese. Liz's favorite is the 6 year cheddar. This season Craig will be doing 2 food demonstrations on Saturday,August 16 and Saturday,October 11 at the Oak Park Market as well as participate in the Stone Soup closing festivities. Liz is returning to teaching, as it is fall and time for her "real" job. She will miss the restaurant, as she won't be there five nights a week any more, but she will be there at least once a week, working hard and keeping the staff on their toes :) We are very excited to offer brunch on Sundays. In addition to our delicious antipasti table featuring a wide variety of meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and pastries, we have a great mixture of both traditional brunch items, like sausage hash, flank steak & eggs other and more innovative items like eggs poached in marinara. We continue to make changes to our menu based on seasonal availability. In addition to the menu changes, we are consistently trying out new recipes which we offer as specials. These seasonal changes keep with our philosophy of offering the freshest seasonal ingredients.
